State Corn Growers Announce Political Endorsements
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 09/24/2020

The Wisconsin Corn Growers Association has announced its endorsements in key races in the general election on November 3. WCGA President Doug Rebout says the candidates have all backed policies that support Wisconsin's top crop and the producers who grow it.

"This year we chose to endorse candidates based on a scoring system. This system allowed us to support those who voted with us, or led on our issues," Rebout said. "We believe that these elected officials have advocated for farmers and will continue to lead in support of Wisconsin's rural economy and our member-growers."

In State Senate races, WCGA endorses Joan Ballweg (R-Markesan) and Pat Testin (R-Stevens Point).

Candidates for State Assembly being backed by WCGA include Dave Considine (D-Baraboo); James Edming (R-Glen Flora); Joel Kitchens (R-Sturgeon Bay); Scott Krug (R-Rome); Tony Kurtz (R-Wonewoc); Amy Loudenbeck (R-Clinton); Todd Novak (R-Dodgeville); Loren Oldenburg (R-Viroqua), Jon Plumer (R-Lodi); Treig Pronschinske (R-Mondovi); Rob Summerfield (R-Bloomer); Mark Spreitzer (R- eloit); Gary Tauchen (R-Bonduel); Travis Tranel (R-Cuba City); Nancy VanderMeer (R-Tomah); and Don Vruwink (D-Milton).

The Wisconsin Corn Growers Association is a nonprofit membership organization representing the interests of the state's 19,000 corn growers.
