PDPF's 'Plant a Seed' Campaign Raises Over $76,500
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/19/2022

Dairy producers and industry leaders have helped raise $69,560 for the Professional Dairy Producers Foundation. As part of its third annual 'Plant a Seed. Inspire a Dream' campaign, the group will now be able to reinvest those contributions through education programs that grow the next generation of dairy leaders.

For the past several months, PDPF board members Steven Vale, Floyd Sutton, Brian Forrest, and Joan Behr led opposing teams to raise money in a friendly online competition.

"We appreciate the hard work of the volunteers and all of the donors in the Plant a Seed Campaign who are giving back to the industry they love," Forrest, who serves as chairman of the PDPF board. "Now more than ever, rural America needs a vibrant, sustainable dairy community, and programming supported by Dairy's Foundation helps build the leaders that will lead our industry and communities into the future."

The PDPF will use a large portion of those funds to help awards dollars for qualified educational programs in the form of grants. Organizations may apply for up to $5,000 to help implement ideas in educating consumers about the importance of the dairy industry.

The deadline to apply for grant funding is June 1. Grant criteria and an application package is available at: www.dairyfoundation.org
