Today, U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack shared details of a significant clean energy initiative in Colorado under the Administration’s Investing in America Agenda.
The initiative, part of the Powering Affordable Clean Energy (PACE) program, allocates more than $81 million in partially forgivable loans to enhance renewable energy projects across rural Colorado.
These investments, funded by the Inflation Reduction Act, mark a historic move towards sustainable energy solutions in rural America.
The Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association and Delta Montrose Electric Association are among the selected beneficiaries, set to develop community solar and grid-connected photovoltaic systems, respectively.
Secretary Vilsack highlighted the importance of these projects for reducing energy costs, creating jobs, and reducing environmental impacts. This effort is also a stride towards the Justice40 Initiative, aiming to deliver significant federal investment benefits to underserved communities.
With previous allocations including five PACE applications totaling $139 million, the USDA continues to champion renewable energy, promising further awards in the coming months.
These initiatives underline the USDA’s commitment to improving life in rural America through sustainable and economic advancements.
