UW-Madison Short Course Honors Outstanding Students

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Farm & Industry Short Course has honored its graduating seniors during a recent ceremony.

The program's alumni association has present its Outstanding Student awards to four second-year Short Course students who excelled in academics, activities and leadership. They include Brett Hildebrandt, Hustisford; Brittany Breunig, Portage; Carrie Devine, Cottage Grove; and Michael Buiter, Fox Lake. Each received a plaque and a $500 award.

WALSAA Activity and Leadership Awards went to selected students to recognize exceptional work beyond the classroom within the Short Course program. Receiving the award were Brett Hildebrandt, Hustisford; David Smits, Markesan; Lindsay Lainberger, DeForest; Shane Adams, Stevens Point; Anthony Hass, Manawa; Cory Brown, Belleville.

And the Academic Awards were given to first- and second-year students who maintained a 3.70 GPA or higher. Those students were Luke Luchterhand, Granton; Andy Larsen, Lone Rock; Seth Schmidt, Elkhorn; Anthony Hass, Manawa; Jared Bradt, Black River Falls; Gregory Zimdars, Ripon; Ethan Malski, Byron Center, MI; Cory Brown, Belleville; Carrie Devine, Cottage Grove; Nathan Handzel, Cottage Grove; Jordan Hargarten, Clinton; Kevin Hildebrandt, South Beloit, IL; Michael Kaltenberg, Sun Prairie; and Brent Payne, Sullivan.

The University of Wisconsin College of Agricultural & Life Sciences Alumni Association is a not-for-profit organization of 2,000 members who are former CALS or Industry Short Course students.
