Sen. Tiffany Resigns to Take Congressional Seat
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/19/2020

Tom Tiffany has officially left his spot in the state senate to be sworn in as Wisconsin's newest congressman. The Minocqua Republican announced on Monday that he has resigned from the 12th Senate District after winning a special election last week to replace Sean Duffy, who stepped down from the seventh congressional district last fall.

"When I was first elected to the State Assembly in 2010, lawmakers faced a $3.6 billion budget deficit, taxes and fees were high and confidence was low for small business owners," he said in a statement on Monday. "Over the years, Legislative Republicans turned that deficit into a surplus, cut taxes by more than $13 billion, froze tuition for hard-working families, defended our 2nd Amendment, and protected the unborn."

He also thanked Reps. Mary Felzkowski, Jeff Mursau, and Rob Swearingen, who serve as Assembly representatives in his district.

Tiffany served a member of various senate committees in the legislature, including Joint Finance, Sporting Heritage, Mining, Forestry and Rural Issues.
