Midwest Horse Fair Kicks Off Friday
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 04/18/2008

Horse owners from all over the Midwest are heading to Madison this weekend for the 29th Annual Midwest Horse Fair. The event, which is sponsored by the Wisconsin State Horse Council, is being held at the Alliant Energy Center today through Sunday, where people involved in the equine industry can attend educational seminars or learn about the latest products available through hundreds of exhibitors at the show.

New to this year's event is the Midwest Mustang Challenge, in which 55 trainers from all over the country will be in town to show off how they can control their Mustang horses for a $12,000 prize. The Midwest Horse Fair will also feature a Youth Horse Judging Contest and a Youth Poster Contest on the theme of responsible horse ownership. The cost to attend the Expo is $9.00 General Admission per day, or $24.00 to receive a three-day pass. Kids under nine years of age are free.

And the weekend wouldn't be complete without the 'mane' event, 'Dancing with the Horses' - which is a special celebration of horses that portray romance, heroism, freedom and spirit that only the horse can embody.
