Prices Up on NASS Cheese Survey

Prices were higher this week on the National Ag Statistics Service Weekly Cheddar Cheese Survey. The price of 40 pound blocks for Minnesota-Wisconsin averaged $2.05, up five cents from last week's price, while 500 pound barrels were six cents higher at $2.06. The price of U.S. 40-pound blocks were up three cents at $1.99 for the week ending May 17. The barrels were at $1.97, up 5.9 cents.

Butter prices were up two cents as the price for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.43 per pound for the week.

Nonfat Dry Milk prices were down a penny for the week at $1.29 per pound for USDA Extra Grade standards.

And for 'other states,' blocks were up two cents at $1.94, and the barrels were at $2.05, which was a nickel higher compared to the previous week.
