Rudolph Student Wins Ag in the Classroom Essay Contest
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 06/02/2017

A fifth-grade school student from Rudolph is the statewide winner of the Agriculture in the Classroom's Essay Contest. Max Hetze's paper was about cranberry production in Wisconsin during one of the four seasons.

"Growing cranberries is a very hard and long process," Max's winning essay explained. "It is a process that continues through all of the seasons. It may be long, but it is definitely worth it in the end."

Hetze attends THINK Academy, which is part of the Wisconsin Rapids School District. He was one of over 2,800 students who wrote essays for the competition. Each district winner will receive a certificate, educational resources for their teacher and a classroom presentation about Wisconsin agriculture.

The essay contest is sponsored by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation, Insight FS and We Energies.

Other district winners were Isabel Kuchta, Fort Atkinson; Katie Gollon, Rio; Bryce Roelli, Mineral Point; Amanda Isakson, Fountain City; Vivian Lucas, Fond du Lac; Trinity Halseth, Random Lake; Hailyn St. Louis, Oconto Falls; and Heather Nelson, Ladysmith.

The Ag in the Classroom is a program to help students K-12 to explain the importance of agriculture.
