Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation (WFBF) has announced the finalists for its 2026 Young Farmer and Agriculturist (YFA) Farming for the Future Award and Outstanding Agriculture Professional Award.
Four finalists in each category will compete for the top honors during the WFBF Annual Meeting and YFA Conference, scheduled for December 4-6, 2026, at Kalahari Resorts in Wisconsin Dells.
The Farming for the Future Award honors YFA members who demonstrate strong involvement in farming, clear goals for the future, leadership skills, and participation in Farm Bureau as well as civic and service organizations. Candidates must earn most of their income through on-farm production.
“These finalists represent the next generation of bold, business-minded farmers who are deeply committed to growing Wisconsin agriculture,” said WFBF President Brad Olson. “Their leadership and vision are helping shape the future of farming in our state.”
The Farming for the Future finalists are:
- Josh and Kristen Joseph - Richland County
- Tyler Meinnert - Sheboygan County
- Cullen Schlewitz - Eau Claire County
- Brooke Trustem - Rock County
The Outstanding Agriculture Professional Award recognizes YFA members who demonstrate leadership, agricultural involvement, and service to Farm Bureau and their communities. Entrants must receive most of their income from an off-farm agricultural career.
“These young professionals are leading with purpose and making a difference far beyond the farm gate,” said Olson. “Their passion and drive continue to strengthen the future of Wisconsin agriculture.”
The Outstanding Agriculture Professional finalists are:
- Christopher and Kori Blank - Monroe County
- Travis Senn - Polk Burnett Farm Bureau
- Eric Wuthrich - Green County
- Tess Zettle - Green County
Finalists will interview with judges during the December conference. Winners in both categories will receive $1,500 from GROWMARK, Inc., along with opportunities to attend the 2027 American Farm Bureau Federation FUSION Conference in New Orleans and participate in the 2027 YFA Washington, D.C., Fly-In. The prize package is valued at more than $5,000.
