Wisconsin Growers Among Winners in World Forage Superbowl

A Washington County dairy producer took home the Grand Champion First-Time Entrant honors during the World Forage Analysis Superbowl at World Dairy Expo last week. Matt Held of Slinger was awarded $1,500 for his efforts.

The overall Grand Champion cash award of $2,500 went to Doug Dotterer of Dotterer Dairy from Mill Hall, Pennsylvania.

Other winning participants from Wisconsin include Swartz & Son Farms LLC, Gilman, and Don & Nancy Hasselquist, Osceola, who placed first and second respectively for Dairy Hay; Rosedale Seed, Oxford, first for Grass Hay; Olson Farms, Lena, and Twin Cities Vue Dairy, Manitowoc, first and second respectively for Haylage; Sievert Farms, Sobieski, and Fredrick Farms, Owen, placing first and third respectively for Standard Corn Silage; and Strutz Farms, Two Rivers, placing second for BMR Corn Silage.

This year's World Forage Analysis Superbowl evaluated 843 entries and presented awards to top finishers at a luncheon in Madison.
