The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is encouraging dairy processors across the state to apply for Dairy Processor Grants, with applications due by noon on November 3, 2026.
The program received additional funding through the 2025-2027 state budget after bipartisan support from Gov. Tony Evers and state lawmakers, reflecting its success in promoting innovation and growth within Wisconsin’s dairy industry.
The grants are designed to help dairy processing facilities improve efficiency, profitability, and long-term sustainability. Eligible applicants must operate a licensed dairy processing plant in Wisconsin involved in pasteurizing, processing, or manufacturing dairy products.
Funding can be used for a variety of projects, including food safety improvements, employee training, facility modernization, plant expansion, and professional consulting services.
“Wisconsin’s dairy processors are a vital link in the dairy supply chain, and their ongoing commitment to crafting the highest quality dairy products reflects positively on the whole industry," said DATCP Secretary Randy Romanski. “Thanks to Gov. Evers continued investment in dairy processors, we continue to invest in Wisconsin dairy.”
DATCP will award grants of up to $50,000 through a competitive selection process. Successful applicants must provide matching funds equal to 20% of the grant amount.
To assist potential applicants, DATCP will host an informational webinar at 1 p.m. on October 13, 2026. Applications must be submitted by noon on November 3, 2026, and grant recipients will be announced at a later date.
The program aims to strengthen Wisconsin’s dairy processing sector while supporting continued innovation and economic growth throughout the state.
