DFW Accepting Remote Notarization in Board Nominating Process
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/25/2020

As nominations are being secured for the upcoming board election for the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, the state's agriculture department is making producers aware of the Department of Financial Institutions' guidance on remote notarization.

"In light of recent developments relating to COVID-19, nominees may have their five nominators electronically sign by sending an email to the Market Orders Program Manager," DATCP said in a statement. "Traditional signatures on an individual nomination form will also be accepted."

In order to be nominated for a state check-off board position, individuals must have a minimum of five signatures to be secured on the ballot.

Nominations are being accepted through March 31 for new-comers and incumbents in districts 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22 and 25.

After nominations have been processed, the department will hold a mail-in ballot election later in the spring.
