Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/17/2008

The Wisconsin Holstein Association, along with breeders throughout the Midwest, are making plans for the 2008 annual Midwest National Spring Holstein Show. The event is being held April 18-19 in Jefferson. Exhibitors from six states have signed up to participate.

The weekend will begin with the Midwest National Red and White Holstein Show on Friday, starting at 10:00 a.m. The judge for this show will be Brian Rohloff of Whitewater. On Saturday, the Midwest National Spring Holstein Show will be held starting at 8:30 a.m. Judge Paul Trapp will have the opportunity to place what is sure to be an exceptional lineup of Holsteins.

Meanwhile, youth can participate in fitting and showmanship contests on Friday. There will be three age divisions in the showmanship contest, and two in the fitting contest. The winners of the contest will be qualified to compete at the national contest during the 2008 National Holstein Convention being held in Wisconsin Dells in June. Badger Dairy Club will be coordinating the showmanship contest.

Entries for both shows are available from the WHA office. Entries will increase to $50 per animal after the March 24 deadline.
