Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/14/2019
The Cassville FFA Chapter has taken top honors in the 51st annual land judging contest, coordinated by the University of Wisconsin-Platteville chapters of the Students in Agriculture, Soils, and Environmental Sciences and the Soil and Water Conservation
Society.
The event, which was held last week at the UW-Platteville Pioneer Farm, allows students to evaluate a plot of land and identify its soil type, slope and layer systems.
The River Ridge FFA was named the second place team. A total of seven high schools participated in the competition, bringing over 120 students.
The highest scoring individual of the contest was Sarah Brokopp of the Monticello FFA. Kieran Jahnke from the Lancaster FFA was runner up, and Kendra Jeutz, River Ridge, placed third.
