Prices Mostly Higher on NASS Cheese Survey

Prices were mostly up this week on the National Ag Statistics Service Weekly Cheddar Cheese Survey. The price of 40 pound blocks for Minnesota-Wisconsin averaged $2.00, down two cents from last week's price, while 500 pound barrels were four cents higher at $2.00. The price of U.S. 40-pound blocks were up three cents at $1.93 for the week ending May 10. The barrels were five cents higher at $1.91.

Butter prices were up four cents as the price for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.41 per pound for the week.

Nonfat Dry Milk prices were three cents higher for the week at $1.31 per pound for USDA Extra Grade standards.

And for 'other states,' blocks were up four cents at $1.92, and the barrels were at $2.00, which was a six cents higher compared to the previous week.
