New WDEC Director Has Ties to Agriculture
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 09/09/2019
Governor Tony Evers' choice to lead the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. is Missy Hughes, who served as chief mission officer and general counsel for Organic Valley/CROPP Cooperative for the past 16 years. She was also a member of the Organic
Trade Association since 2013 and previously held a post on the USDA's Advisory Committee on Biotechnology & 21st Century Agriculture.
"Having worked in a high-growth business for many years, with the goal of helping farmers stay on their farms now and for the coming generations, I am excited to bring my experience to the Evers Administration, and I look forward to helping all of Wisconsin
thrive," she said.
Evers says her background helping small businesses and family farms will make her an asset to the organization.
Hughes begins her new role on October 1. She replaces Mark Hogan, who resigned earlier this month.
