Farm Bureau's PAC Backs Pittman for State Senate
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 09/14/2018

The political action arm of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is endorsing Plum City dairy farmer Mel Pittman for his bid for the open 31st Senate seat in the upcoming general election.

The Volunteers for Agriculture Committee says Pittman, who's running as a Republican, understands the importance of striking a balance between good land stewardship, best management practices and government regulations.

"The local farmers who interviewed Mel are confident in his understanding of the challenges the farming community faces," said WFBF Governmental Relations Director Rob Richard. "Mel will work to create prosperity for our family farms and protect our natural resources for generations to come."

Pittman is facing former Democratic Assemblyman Jeff Smith of Eau Claire in the November election for the seat being vacated by Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, who previously announced she would not seek re-election after 12 years in the legislature.

The 31st Senate District consists of portions of Buffalo, Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Monroe, Pepin, Pierce, St. Croix and Trempealeau Counties.
