PDP Dairy Signal Offers New Insights on Herd Care and Markets

By Blake Jackson

Professional Dairy Producers (PDP) is offering two educational episodes of The Dairy Signal this week, providing dairy producers with valuable information on herd management and market conditions.

The live webinars are designed to help farmers improve animal care while staying informed about industry trends that affect profitability.

The June 16, 2026, session will focus on understanding dairy cow behavior and applying safe, effective animal handling practices.

Dr. Jennifer Van Os, assistant professor and animal welfare extension specialist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will discuss practical techniques that promote calmer cattle and safer working environments for farm employees.

On June 18, Ben Buckner, chief grains and dairy analyst with AgResource Company, will present an update on agricultural markets.

Buckner presentation will cover current trends and economic developments that could influence dairy operations and business decisions across the industry.

The Dairy Signal episodes are accredited through Dairy AdvanCE (DACE), allowing dairy farmers, industry professionals, and students to earn continuing education units (CEUs) by participating in either the live broadcasts or recorded sessions.

The Dairy AdvanCE platform helps users manage and track their continuing education requirements.

The Dairy Signal is a weekly educational program that delivers practical insights for dairy producers and food system professionals.

Live episodes air every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Central Time and include opportunities for participants to ask questions during the session. Recorded programs are also available for later viewing at https://pdpw.org/.
