Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) Secretary Randy Romanski has selected Timothy Anderson to lead the Division of Food and Recreational Safety (DFRS), effective September 6, 2026.
Romanski highlighted Anderson’s background in public health, regulatory work, leadership, and collaboration. “Tim has decades of experience in protecting public health, managing public sector teams, and collaborating to meet regulatory requirements,” said Romanski.
“At DATCP, we aim to serve as a resource, and Tim has done that throughout his leadership roles at the agency. Tim’s strengths include goal-oriented work and maintaining effective partnerships. I know he’ll bring this to his new role as Administrator of the Division of Food and Recreational Safety.”
Anderson served as Administrator of the Division of Agricultural Resource Management and directed DATCP’s Bureau of Land and Water. He spent over a decade in DFRS, holding positions including Dairy Section Manager, Field Services Section Manager, and Technical Services Section Manager.
“I am honored to continue to serve the public in the role of Administrator of the Division of Food and Recreational Safety,” said Anderson. “I look forward to working with stakeholders and partners to achieve our joint goals of safe food and recreation in Wisconsin.”
Anderson succeeds Adam Brock, who served for two years. Anderson earned a bachelor’s degree in wildlife ecology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
