Dunn County 4-H dairy judging members delivered an impressive performance at the 2026 Wisconsin State 4-H Dairy Judging Contest, held August 23, 2026, in Madison.
The county’s junior team earned the top honor, finishing as state champions after a successful season of preparation and competition.
The winning junior group included Aubrey and Mackenzie McClelland, Anya and Marlies Lange, Abigail Dietsche, and Sophia Bauer. Aubrey, Mackenzie, Anya, and Abigail participated directly in the judging competition, evaluating dairy cattle in the arena.
Marlies and Sophia supported the event as lead people, helping guide the animals into position for evaluation. The junior team also captured first place in the Type Analysis Questionnaire, a written portion of the dairy judging competition.
Dunn County’s senior team also posted a solid result, placing eighth at the state contest. Cole Quilling, Tyler Quilling, Kylee Schlough, and Blake Sparrgrove competed for the senior division and recorded several top five finishes among individual breeds.
Coaches Jim Powers, Ben Powers, and Ben Styer played an important role in preparing the teams. The program also recognized the support of parents, youth participants, and local practice farms.
