State Corn Stocks Up, Soybean Down Last Year

On March 1, Wisconsin corn in all storage locations totaled 269 million bushels, with 165 million bushels stored on farms and 104 million bushels stored in elevators. The state's agriculture department reports
that corn stocks showed an increase of 14.8 million bushels from last year. Off-farm stocks increased just over 10 percent from the previous year, while on-farm stocks increased just three percent.
Soybean stocks in the Badger State totaled 14.0 million bushels on farms, while off-farm storage held 21.9 million bushels. Total soybean stocks declined 2.47 million bushels from a year earlier to 35.9
million bushels. Oats stored in on-farm facilities in Wisconsin totaled 4.50 million bushels, 27 percent behind the previous year.
Wisconsin wheat numbers were not available, but nationally, all wheat stored on March 1 was down 17 percent from last year.
