AGCO Corporation, a leader in agricultural machinery and technology, announced its NexTECH program at South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) to prepare the next generation of agricultural technicians.
The program, set to commence in January 2025, is designed to integrate AGCO-specific training into existing diesel technology curricula, focusing on the company’s top-tier machinery like Fendt® and Massey Ferguson®.
The NexTECH program aims to address the growing need for skilled technicians capable of handling modern agricultural equipment that incorporates cutting-edge technology.
By providing AGCO training aids and resources, the program ensures that students receive practical, hands-on experience, critical for maintaining the complex machinery used in today’s farms.
Ash Alt, Aftersales Training Manager for AGCO North America, emphasized the importance of the program - “Our farmers and dealers need technicians skilled at maintaining the complex equipment they use, and AGCO’s NexTECH program is designed to fill the pipeline with motivated and highly trained technicians to keep them running.”
Interested students are encouraged to reach out to SGTC to explore potential tuition benefits from dealerships in exchange for work commitments. This partnership not only benefits students with valuable skills but also supports the agricultural industry by preparing a knowledgeable workforce ready to tackle the challenges of modern farming.
