Aspiring and current Wisconsin fair judges can boost their skills with a free online training webinar offered by the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP). Happening on April 23rd, 2024, at 6 PM via Microsoft Teams, the session covers the basics of judging at county and district fairs.
The webinar delves into becoming a judge, expectations, and judging types (conference or face-to-face). It also includes a Q&A for participants. Registration is quick – just send an email to DATCPFairs@wisconsin.gov with your name, address, phone number, and email. They'll send confirmation with a link and downloadable slides.
Not yet a judge? Then applications can be filled out electronically or by hand but require a signature. Mail them to Fairs Program Coordinator, 2811 Agriculture Drive, Madison, WI, 53708 or email them to the same address at DATCPFairs@wisconsin.gov.
Wisconsin's fairs are a big deal, attracting over 3 million attendees annually. DATCP licenses judges, maintains a judge database, and supports fairs through funding and collaboration with the Wisconsin Association of Fairs to improve exhibits and the overall fairgoer experience.
