CentralStar Cooperative has awarded eight scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to college agriculture students at two- and four-year universities.
The cooperative says applicants were judged on academics, agricultural and community involvement, as well as dedication to the agriculture industry.
Scholarship winners from Wisconsin include Emma Bangart, Stratford, attending the University of Wisconsin-River Falls; Rachel Durst, Richland Center, attending UW-Platteville; Austin Fahey, Edgar, a student at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton; Jenna Gries, Manitowoc, attending UW-Madison; Lora Korth, New London, attending the UWRF; and Mary Lewandowski, Hatley, attending Northcentral Technical College in Wausau.
Each of the students achieved academic success and have shown outstanding leadership ability to qualify them for this scholarship.
The co-op was formed last year upon the merger between East Central/Select Sires and NorthStar Cooperative.
