Professional Dairy Producers (PDP) is offering two educational episodes of The Dairy Signal this week, giving dairy producers practical guidance on workforce well-being and conservation practices.
The first session, scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, will focus on recognizing and managing burnout. The program will explore how stress can gradually affect individuals and teams, while providing strategies to identify early warning signs and create healthier work environments.
The presentation will be led by Monica Kramer McConkey, a licensed professional counselor and rural behavioral health consultant with Eyes on the Horizon Consulting, LLC. Producers and agricultural professionals will gain valuable tools to support both their own mental well-being and that of their employees.
On Thursday, July 30, the series will turn its attention to grassed waterways, an important conservation practice that helps reduce soil erosion and improve water quality. Although often underutilized, grassed waterways play a critical role in protecting farmland from runoff and maintaining productive fields.
Todd Prill, Northwest Region Outreach Specialist for the Ag Water Quality Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension, will discuss why fall is the ideal season to inspect, install, and maintain these waterways.
Episodes of The Dairy Signal are accredited through Dairy AdvanCE (DACE), allowing dairy farmers, students, and industry professionals to earn continuing education units (CEUs) by participating in either the live broadcasts or recorded sessions.
The Dairy Signal airs live every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Central Time, delivering timely educational content and practical resources that support dairy operations and the broader food production industry.
