Beginning April 1, 2025, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) will begin accepting nominations for three producer seats on the Wisconsin Cranberry Board. This board plays a crucial role in supporting the state's cranberry industry.
Wisconsin cranberry growers are invited to nominate themselves or fellow producers. To obtain nomination forms, interested parties should contact DATCP Market Orders staff at DATCPMarketOrders@wisconsin.gov before May 30, 2025.
Completed nomination forms must include the signatures of five eligible cranberry growers, excluding the nominee, and be postmarked by May 30, 2025. Forms should be mailed to DATCP Market Orders Program, P.O. Box 8911, Madison, WI 53708-8911.
The election for these board positions will take place from July 10 to August 15, 2025. Elected producers will serve three-year terms, beginning September 1, 2025.
The Wisconsin Cranberry Board consists of seven producers from across the state. They manage approximately $546,000 in assessment fees collected from Wisconsin cranberry growers.
These funds are used to support the cranberry industry through research, education, and the promotion of Wisconsin-grown cranberries. This board ensures the sustainable growth and promotion of this vital agricultural product.
