Forage Superbowl Announces Prize Awards For 2022 Contest

Entries in this year's World Forage Analysis Superbowl at World Dairy Expo can win big with over $26,000 in cash prizes being awarded. Started in 1983, the event provides growers the opportunity to compare their forage with others from across the United States and Canada.

The contest evaluates lab and visual components in eight forage categories and awards $1,500 to the top individual in each class, with additional prizes also awarded to second through fourth place finishers.

The competition areas include Standard Corn Silage, Brown Midrib Corn Silage, Baleage, Commercial Hay, Dairy Hay, Alfalfa Haylage, Mixed Grass Haylage, and Grass Hay. Forage samples are judged on lab and visual analysis, and herd production information when applicable.

The deadline to submit corn silage samples is July 8, with all other entries due by August 25. Awards will be presented at a luncheon on October 5 at the Expo in Madison.

For more information about the event, call 920-336-4521.
