Farmers and agricultural professionals are invited to attend a free in-person workshop on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Town Hall of Greenfield in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The event will focus on emerging opportunities in cover crop and oilseed production, with a spotlight on winter camelina.
This informative session will explore the potential of winter camelina both as a cover crop and as a harvestable grain.
Topics include its effects on corn yield, insights from first year on-farm trials, and whether drone seeding methods are effective. Attendees will also learn best practices for planting, relay cropping, harvesting, and storage techniques.
A special segment of the event will feature Anna Teeter, Novel Oilseeds Program Manager with Cargill, who will discuss current grain contracting opportunities and anticipated market expansion for winter camelina.
A complimentary lunch will be provided following the program.
