The Wisconsin Pork Association (WPA) and UW-Extension will host a Farrow to Wean Seminar for swine producers on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the West Madison Ag Research Station, 8502 Mineral Point Rd., Verona, WI 53593.

The event is open to pork producers and allied industry members seeking practical strategies to improve herd productivity and piglet health.

The evening begins with a dinner at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The seminar will cover strategies to increase farrowing rates, enhance sow productivity, and improve piglet survival from birth through weaning.

Participants will gain hands-on insights from experienced industry professionals and have the opportunity for interactive discussions with fellow producers and experts.

Topics on the agenda include sow mortality, ideal temperatures for farrowing houses and nurseries, Day 1 piglet care, nursery pig management and feeding practices, and pre-wean gastroenteritis along with its impact on downstream livability.

This seminar is the final session in the 2025 swine production educational series, reflecting the collaborative effort between UW-Extension and the Wisconsin Pork Association to provide producers with resources and knowledge to thrive in a changing agricultural landscape.
