The Wisconsin Pork Association (WPA) is once again offering its Youth Pig Project scholarships to support 4-H and FFA members interested in starting or growing their swine projects.
These scholarships aim to help youth develop valuable life skills and explore career opportunities within Wisconsin’s pork industry.
Eligible 4-H and FFA participants can apply for a $100 scholarship to help cover expenses related to their 2025 pig project. Scholarships will be awarded in three age categories: 9-11, 12-15, and 16-19 (as of January 1, 2026). With backing from swine breeders and industry partners statewide, WPA hopes to fund at least 50 scholarships this year.
Selected recipients will be required to attend an educational webinar before receiving their funds. This training helps strengthen participants’ understanding of swine production, reinforces the WeCare commitment upheld by pork producers, and introduces youth to future opportunities in the pork industry.
Applications can be downloaded from the WPA website at www.wppa.org/youth-pig-project or requested by calling 608-723-7551. Completed forms must be emailed or postmarked by January 16, 2026.
WPA encourages individuals and businesses to help support the Youth Pig Project. Those interested in becoming sponsors can contact WPA at wppa@wppa.org or call 608-723-7551 for more information.
