UW-Extension Holding DRPP/MPP Informational Meetings

The University of Wisconsin-Extension is offering additional informational meetings across the state for farmers interested in learning about the new Dairy Revenue Protection program, a new federal insurance tool that pays dairy farmers quarterly payments when milk revenue falls below their insured revenue level.

Dr. Mark Stephenson of the UW-Center for Dairy Profitability will provide a comprehensive overview of the Dairy Revenue Protection program and updates to the Farm Service Agency's Dairy Margin Protection Program, as another tool for dairy farmers when milk prices are low.

Attendees will hear about the structure and function of the new program, as well as expected returns and decision making tools and calculations.

The meetings will be held at the following dates and locations:

** February 7: Blue Door Coffee Co, Campbellsport - 12:45 p.m.

** February 12: Lowell Community Memorial VFW, Lowell - 1:00 p.m.

** February 13: Belvedere Supper Club, Marshfield - 10:00 a.m.

** February 13: Lincoln County Service Center, Merrill - 1:00 p.m.

** March 5: Green Lake County UW-Extension, Green Lake - 10:00 a.m.

** March 11: Jackson County UW-Extension, Black River Falls - 10:00 a.m.

** March 11: Blair Community Center, Blair - 1:00 p.m.

** March 20: Brillion Community Center Street, Brillion - 10:00 a.m.

Pre-registration is recommended for meeting materials.
