Virtual Ag Day at the Capitol Slated for March 24
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 02/23/2021

The annual Ag Day at the Capitol has been scheduled for March 24 using a virtual platform. The event is typically the largest gathering of farmers from across the state representing a variety of farm groups to learn more about priority state issues, and to lobby their state lawmakers as a unified voice for agriculture.

Organizers say the online forum gets underway with a briefing on state issues, followed by pre-scheduled virtual meetings with representatives to discuss issues important to Wisconsin farmers.

"This year's virtual event provides every farmer and agriculturist the opportunity to participate from the comfort of their home or office," said Wisconsin Farm Bureau President Kevin Krentz. "This unique event is an opportunity for farmers and agriculturists from all walks of life to stand together and ask state legislators for their support on key issues."

Some of the topics expected to be discuss this year include the biennial state budget, broadband access, wolf hunting and other issues.

Major sponsors of the event include Rural Mutual Insurance Company and GROWMARK Inc. Other supporters include Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, Dairy Business Association, Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Cattlemen's Association, Wisconsin Corn Growers Association, Wisconsin Hemp Alliance, Wisconsin Horse Council, Wisconsin Pork Association, Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Growers Association, Wisconsin Soybean Association and the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association.

There is no charge to participate in the event, but pre-registration is required. To sign-up, go to:
