WFU State Convention Being Planned for January 25-27

Members of the Wisconsin Farmers Union will be heading to Appleton later this month for the group's 88th annual convention. The conference will be held at the Red Lion Hotel Paper Valley and will include keynote speakers like Food First Director
Eric Holt-Giménez and WFU President Darin Von Ruden.
National Farmers Union President Roger Johnson will also be in attendance and will take part in the featured afternoon panel on consolidation in agriculture.
Friends of the Family Farmer and membership awards will be presented during a luncheon on Saturday. Other activities throughout the weekend include a concurrent Youth Co-op Convention, the Torchbearer's Award Presentation for youth
program graduates, a silent auction and a Sunday morning interfaith service.
Educational sessions are also being planned on a wide range of topics throughout the weekend, including funding a value-added ag enterprise and searching for sustainability screening.
And attendees will play an important role in shaping WFU policy as the organization sets its resolutions and policy priorities for the coming year.
The convention is open to the public, but only member delegates may vote on policy issues.
