Wisconsin Young Farmers to Visit Washington D.C.

Twenty-nine young ag leaders will travel to Washington, D.C. early next month as part of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation's annual Young Farmer Fly-in. The group will be in the nation's capital from April 5-9 to attend an issues briefing with the American Farm Bureau, visit the Australian Embassy and USDA. They will also spend some time meeting with their Representatives and Senators on Capitol Hill to express the Farm Bureau's views on the Farm Bill and other agricultural issues.

"This is a great opportunity for our emerging leaders to get an up-close look at how things operate in Washington D.C.," said WFBF President Bill Bruins. "They also put a face on our agriculture industry for our nation's leaders."

The young farmers who will take part in the fly-in are include Tiffany Paulus and Christopher Peterson, Ozaukee County; Jenny Dierickx, Dane County; Alissa Grenawalt, Green County; Christine Lepple, Dodge County; Steve and Leslie Strey, Eau Claire County; Dan Hinz and Stephanie Murphy, Winnebago County; Joe and Christy Wollinger, Green Lake County; Greg and Tammy Paplham, Kewaunee County; Terry and Toni Sorenson, Door County; Pete and Nicki Van Deurzen, Brown County; Adam and Becky Kuczer, Shawano County; Norbert and Heidi Haltinner, Lincoln County; Glenn and Amanda Webb, St. Croix County; Abraham Arndt, Rock County; Todd Herricks, Monroe County; Christopher Fuchs, Wood County; Devin Helt, Dane County; Derrick Papcke, Walworth County; and Manda Peirick, Jefferson County.
