The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension has officially published the final report of its 2024 Wisconsin Custom Rate Survey, providing comprehensive estimates for typical custom farming operations across the state. This valuable resource offers insight into the costs associated with various agricultural services.
Determining fair compensation for custom farm work can be challenging in modern agriculture, making this report an essential tool. The data within is compiled from responses by Wisconsin farmers, farm managers, and custom operators, aiming to bring clarity to rates for a wide array of services.
The report covers a broad spectrum of custom operations, including land tillage, drilling, seeding, planting, fertilization, chemical application, harvesting, combining, hauling, trucking, and other related services. This detailed breakdown helps producers and service providers negotiate equitable agreements.
You can access the complete 2024 Wisconsin Custom Rate Survey report directly on the UW-Madison Extension Farm Management website at go.wisc.edu/WICustomRates24.
