Animals Lost in Separate Wisconsin Barn Fires

Two barn fires in the past week have resulted in the loss of farm animals and other personal property in Wisconsin.

On February 11, three horses were killed in the Waukesha County town of Ottawa when a two-story pole building caught fire. The barn, which also housed a number of antique tractors, was totally destroyed.

Another fire near New London on Friday destroyed a pickup truck, Ford tractor and several ducks and chickens. About 200 bales of hay was also lost in the blaze.

Crews had to battle each of the fires in sub-zero temperatures.
