Boost Team Management at Dairy Training Event

Boost Team Management at Dairy Training Event

By Blake Jackson

For dairy farmers, ensuring the well-being of their cows is a top priority but effectively managing their teams is just as important.

To help producers strengthen their leadership and communication abilities, the Professional Dairy Producers (PDP) created the Dairy Managers Institute, an interactive workshop designed to build management, coaching, and financial skills among dairy professionals.

The two-day event will take place December 16-17, 2025, at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay, Wisconsin, with sessions beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and ending at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The program includes simultaneous Spanish translation and features three progressive tiers that allow participants to enhance their management and leadership skills step by step.

Attendees can choose from the following workshop tiers:

Tier One - “Lead and Manage with Insight”

Presented by Dr. Becky Stewart-Gross, president and founder of Building Bridges Seminars, this session focuses on understanding leadership styles, improving communication, and implementing change effectively.

Tier Two - “Master the Art of Coaching”

Led by Michael Hoffman, founder of Igniting Performance, Inc., this workshop offers practical strategies for coaching employees, providing feedback, and fostering ownership and engagement within teams.

Tier Three - “Nail the Financials and Negotiations”

Taught by Dr. Kevin Bernhardt, University of Wisconsin-Platteville agribusiness professor, and Linda Swindling, CEO of Journey On!, this session helps participants understand farm financials, recognize negotiation styles, and build win-win relationships.

Registration is now open, and dairy professionals are encouraged to enroll their teams early. The registration fee covers materials and meals during the event.

For more information on lodging or program details, visit www.pdpw.org or contact PDP at 800-947-7379. Each tier is accredited for up to 14 Dairy AdvanCE continuing education credits.
