Calumet Co. Fair Holding Annual Dairy Futurity

The sixth annual Calumet County CP Feeds Futurity will be held at the 2021 Calumet County Fair this weekend in Chilton. The dairy show takes place September 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Harder-Goeldi building.

A futurity is unique non-traditional dairy cattle show where exhibitors enter animals as calves and then show them as three-year old cows while wearing formal attire as they display their animals in front of a judge. Exhibitors receive cash awards for the top placed animals and prizes are given out for best dressed exhibitor, first junior owned cow, top bred and owned cow along with the highest milk production awards.

Organizers say the Calumet County CP Feeds Futurity is a fantastic opportunity for local dairy farmers to highlight their outstanding dairy cattle, inform the public of the care of their animals and the dairy products they produce.

The Futurity is sponsored by the Calumet County Holstein Breeders.
