Cooley Wins First-Ever Renk Seeds WORF Scholar Award

A University of Wisconsin-Platteville student is the inaugural recipient of the Brett Renk/Renk Seeds - Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation, Inc. Board Scholar award.

Archie Cooley of Mount Hope has received $1,000 towards his education as he pursues a degree in agribusiness. He was selected from over 300 applicants from rural Wisconsin.

Cooley is a 2020 graduate of River Ridge High School in southwestern Wisconsin. He grew up helping manage his grandparents 400-acre beef farm, where he was responsible for field work, animal identification and animal health. He has grown his own herd to include five animals.

For nearly a century, the Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation has invested in the education of people from rural Wisconsin so they in turn can transform and improve the economic health and quality of life in their rural areas.
