Farmers and crop producers in the Fall Creek, Wisconsin, area can take part in Corn Silage Dry Down Day on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free educational event will be held at A&J Agronomy, located at N503 Freedom Street.
The program is designed to help producers make informed decisions about the right time to harvest corn silage. Participants should bring four corn stalks that are prepared for chopping. Organizers will test the samples for moisture and dry matter, with results provided during the event.
Understanding moisture and dry matter levels can help producers produce higher-quality forage, improve feed value, and manage harvest timing more effectively. The event provides a practical way to assess crop conditions before harvest and learn useful silage management information.
Corn Silage Dry Down Day is organized by Extension Chippewa County in collaboration with A&J Agronomy. The event is free and open to participating producers.
