Dairy business conference - auctioning for education

Dairy business conference - auctioning for education

By Blake Jackson

Dairy farmers attending the 2024 Business Conference can participate in a live auction to support educational programs within the dairy industry. The auction will be held during the Evening Reception and features three unique prize packages.

All proceeds will benefit Dairy's Foundation, the only national organization providing financial support for educational initiatives across the dairy industry. These programs empower future dairy leaders, enhance the skills of current farmers, and foster trust between consumers and producers.

The live auction offers exciting experiences:

  • Luxury Orlando Vacation: Enjoy a six-night stay in a nine-bedroom rental that sleeps 26, featuring themed rooms, a pool, spa, and access to resort amenities. Donated by the PDP Board of Directors.
  • Personalized Business Training: Michael Hoffman, a motivational speaker, will conduct a customized training session for the winning bidder's dairy farm or team. This session can address employee retention, communication strategies, or other business priorities. Donated by Michael Hoffman.
  • IVF Session with Champion Cow: This package grants control over the next IVF session from a high-genetic-merit cow, including at least eight embryos and lab costs. Donated by Larson Acres and Sunshine Genetics.

"We're thrilled with these generous donations and the expanded online bidding options," said Brian Forrest, chair of Dairy's Foundation board. "These funds will be reinvested in educational programs for dairy professionals nationwide."

In addition to the live auction, a silent auction with a wider selection of items is available. Online bidding for the silent auction opened in February and continues until March 14th at https://dairyfoundation.org/. In-person bidding will also be available during the conference.

The silent auction boasts a variety of enticing items, including travel experiences, gift baskets, artwork, and farm equipment. This fundraiser aims to empower the next generation of dairy leaders and strengthen the dairy industry overall.
