This week’s episodes of The Dairy Signal, presented by Professional Dairy Producers (PDP), will provide practical insights for dairy farmers looking to improve herd management and business decision-making.
- On Tuesday, August 26, Dr. Paul Fricke will present new research findings on the best timing for breeding dairy cattle. The study compared insemination at peak activity detected through monitoring systems with insemination after synchronized ovulation. Dr. Fricke, a Professor and Extension Specialist in Dairy Cattle Reproduction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will explain how producers can apply these results to boost reproductive success on their farms.
- On Thursday, August 28, the focus shifts to technology and farm management. Bill Oemichen, JD, Professor of Practice Law and Local Government Law Educator with UW-Madison Extension, will discuss the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. He will explore the potential advantages of AI for farm operations, along with strategies to minimize risks while adopting these technologies.
