DATCP Opens Voting for Wisconsin Soybean Board Seats

DATCP Opens Voting for Wisconsin Soybean Board Seats

By Blake Jackson

Soybean producers in two Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board districts have until August 15, 2026, to cast their votes for representatives in this year's board election.

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) began accepting ballots on July 10.

This election includes one open seat in each of two districts, with a single candidate nominated for both positions. Thomas Perlick of Sarona is seeking to represent District 1, which covers 16 counties across northwestern and central Wisconsin.

Matt Wagenson of Bear Creek is the nominee for District 7, representing 16 counties in northeastern Wisconsin.

DATCP is mailing ballots directly to eligible soybean growers. Producers who do not receive a ballot by July 25 should contact the DATCP Market Orders Program to request one at DATCPMarketOrders@wisconsin.gov.

To be counted, ballots must be completed and signed to DATCP, Market Orders Program, P.O. Box 8911, Madison, WI 53708-8911, with a postmark dated no later than August 15, 2026. Unsigned ballots will not be accepted.

The successful candidates will begin their three-year terms on September 1, 2026, serving on the Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board.
