DBIA Grant Applications Due April 30

The newly created Dairy Business Innovation Alliance is offering industry grants to help dairy producers and processors in the region diversify, modernize or develop new products. Coordinated as a partnership between the Center for Dairy Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, DBIA is available to help dairy-related businesses in the five states, including Wisconsin.

"This initiative will help support farmstead or small dairy businesses as they explore opportunities to create new value-added dairy products like specialty cheeses, in addition, by providing targeted grants to dairy businesses, it will encourage more entrepreneurial efforts," said CDR Director John Lucey.

DBIA will be distributing direct-to-business grants totaling $1 million. Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded through a competitive process.

Applications are due by April 30. Selected applicants will be notified in June.
