The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has posted its open position for an Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources Education consultant. The job was held for the past 15 years by Jeff Hicken, who passed away last month.
According to the agency's job description, the position provides statewide leadership, supervision, coordination, and consultation related to the improvement of elementary and secondary-agriculture, food, and natural resources education and contemporary career and technical education programs. They work with teachers, administrators and others from LEAs, CESAs, Wisconsin Technical College districts, and universities.
In addition, the DPI official serves as the state's official FFA advisor.
