The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Wisconsin Department of Agriculture announced the detection of the Emerald Ash Borer for the first time in Langlade County.
The agencies say the ash-tree-killing beetle appears to have been present in Langlade County for some time prior to detection, with EAB found in Ainsworth, Parrish and Wolf River townships in March.
This is the first new county detection of 2021 and marks the 59th county to have confirmed the presence of EAB since 2008.
