The state's largest farm organization has announced the promotion of two of its staff members.
Cassie Sonnentag has been named the Wisconsin Farm Bureau's new director of media relations and outreach. In her new role, she will oversee WFBF's media relations efforts by writing press releases and coordinating media events and interviews. Sonnentag will also oversee social media strategy and channels along with the group's advertising efforts. She has served as WFBF's District 4 Coordinator for the past four years. Prior to joining the Farm Bureau staff, she worked for the Dairy Star newspaper as a regional reporter.
And Marian Viney has been chosen as the WFBF's Public Relations Coordinator, where she will be responsible for writing, editing and designing content for district newsletters and postcards and assisting with writing and editing for the Rural Route magazine. She previously served as WFBF's Communications Specialist and Graphic Designer. Prior to working with the Farm Bureau, she served as managing editor for Agri-View and was also a marketing specialist with the Wisconsin Historical Society.
