FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative has announced the recipients of its 2021 scholarship program. The cooperative recently awarded over $14,000 in scholarships to 13 high school and collegiate students pursuing postsecondary education.
"Education has always been a cornerstone piece in the foundation of our cooperative. Made possible by the commitment of members and board leaders throughout the years, this support proves to be invaluable to the students the program serves," said FarmFirst Communications Director Julie Sweney. "It is important to support these students and to encourage them to succeed. Their success also leads to our success."
This year's scholarship recipients from Wisconsin include: Dorissa DeNure, Argyle; Matthew Fischer, Owen; Bridgett Hoffman, Brantwood; Melissa Mulderink, Dorchester; Genevieve Phillips, Medford; Ashlee Piskow, Granton; Laney Schmitt, Milladore; Joseph Schuh, Seymour; Brock Strassburg, Bowler; Gracie Walker, Wisconsin Dells; and Randall Winch, Fennimore.
Scholarship recipients were selected based on leadership, scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, essay responses and their future plans and career goals.
All members of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative and their children attending four-year universities, two-year technical programs or short courses and high school seniors planning for postsecondary education were eligible to apply for the scholarships.
