A student from Columbia County attending the University of Minnesota has been named the winner of the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board's Loper Memorial college scholarship. Ashley Hagenow of poynette will receive $3,500 to be used for her education. She is majoring in agricultural communications and marketing.
Other Wisconsin students earning $2,500 scholarships include Amelia Hayden, attending the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities; and Mackenzie Ullmer, studying at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
The NDPRB, through Dairy Management Inc., manages the national dairy checkoff. This year's scholarship criteria was based on academic achievement, career interest in a dairy-related discipline, along with demonstrated leadership, initiative and integrity.
