The Green Bay-based Dairy Business Association and Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative have hired a new managing director. Jeremy Henkels will handle the day-to-day business operations of the farm organizations, as well as enhance their focus on strategic priorities.
Henkels started his career as a human resources specialist for a pork producer in Spring Green, then worked in various HR roles in the radio broadcasting and health care industries. He returned to agriculture in leadership roles at Landmark Services Cooperative in Cottage Grove before moving to Agfinity in 2018, were he served as the executive vice president of shared services.
"I am excited to join DBA and Edge in the managing director role," Henkels said. "As a native of Wisconsin and having worked with best-in-class dairies in my past work experiences, it will be a wonderful homecoming to the Midwest."
The position of managing director is a new role that fulfills the duties once held by Tim Trotter, who has been named executive director of the two groups in January.
